Terms of service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Zumi website, mobile applications, third-party integrations, booking widgets, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Platform and the services it facilitates.
By registering for an account, browsing, booking, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. Definitions
Zumi, we, us, our: Zumi Inc., the operator of the Platform. Platform: The Zumi website, mobile applications, APIs, third-party integrations, booking widgets, marketing partners, and all related features. Pet Owner: A consumer who uses the Platform to book pet-related services. Zumi Pro: An independent contractor or business offering pet-related services (e.g., trainers, groomers, photographers) through the Platform. User, you, your: Any Pet Owner, Zumi Pro, or other individual/entity who visits, registers, or uses the Platform. Booking: A confirmed reservation for a Zumi Pro’s service made via the Platform. Content: Text, images, videos, reviews, and any other materials submitted to or displayed on the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts. Zumi reserves the right to require identity verification for certain bookings or Zumi Pro onboarding.
3. Account Registration
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as needed. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent/abusive conduct, or refuse verification requests.
4. Services Covered
These Terms apply to all current and future pet-related services offered on the Platform, including but not limited to: Visit Location: Pet photographers, trainers, experts, therapists, bakeries At-Home Service: Mobile groomers, vets, trainers, experts, therapists, photographers Zumi does not itself provide any pet services; it merely facilitates connections between Pet Owners and Zumi Pros.
5. Booking, Payment & Fees
Booking Process: All bookings must be made through the Platform and are only confirmed when you receive a booking confirmation via email or in-app notification. Pricing & Payments: Prices are set by Zumi Pros and displayed at the time of booking. Payments are processed securely via PCI-compliant third-party processors. Zumi does not store payment card details. Platform Fee: Zumi charges a non-refundable service fee on each booking, disclosed at checkout. Payment Disputes: Chargebacks or disputes may result in account suspension pending resolution. Taxes: Zumi Pros are solely responsible for determining and remitting applicable taxes on their earnings.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Minimum Policy: Zumi sets a minimum cancellation policy; Zumi Pros must select from Zumi’s preset policy options for their services. Pet Owner Cancellations: Cancellations within the allowed window may be eligible for a refund per the Zumi Pro’s chosen policy. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees. Zumi Pro Cancellations: If a Zumi Pro cancels, Pet Owners will be offered a full refund or the option to rebook. Processing: Refund requests must be made through the Platform. Zumi processes refunds within 5–7 business days. Force Majeure: Neither party is liable for non-performance due to events beyond their control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, or pandemics.

Pet Owners agree to: Provide accurate information about their pet’s needs, health conditions, and environment. Warrant that pets are up to date on required vaccinations, non-aggressive, and safe to handle. Accept responsibility for bookings made on behalf of another pet owner. Not bypass the Platform to book directly with Zumi Pros discovered via Zumi.
8. Zumi Pro Obligations
Zumi Pros must: Maintain all required licenses, insurance, certifications, and complete background checks or equivalent vetting. Perform services in a professional, safe, and timely manner. Comply with all applicable animal welfare and business regulations. Accurately represent their services, pricing, and availability. Not bypass the Platform to transact directly with Pet Owners discovered via Zumi.
9. Content & Reviews
You retain ownership of any Content you submit but grant Zumi a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute such Content for the purposes of operating, promoting, and supporting the Platform. Zumi reserves the right to remove any Content without notice if it violates these Terms or our content guidelines.
10. Intellectual Property
The Platform and its components are the intellectual property of Zumi or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
11. Disclaimers
No Warranty: The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Petcare Disclaimer: Zumi is not responsible for the illness, injury, or death of pets in the care of a Zumi Pro. Vendor Performance: Zumi does not guarantee the performance or reliability of any Zumi Pro. No Insurance: Zumi does not provide insurance coverage for any services booked through the Platform.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zumi and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or from acts/omissions of Zumi Pros.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zumi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Platform.
14. Termination & Survival
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or harmful conduct. The following sections survive termination: Payment Obligations, Indemnification, Intellectual Property, Dispute Resolution, and Governing Law.
15. Dispute Resolution & Class Action Waiver
Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved via binding arbitration in Los Angeles County, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Class Action Waiver: You agree not to participate in any class or representative action against Zumi.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If Zumi operates in other countries, governing law may be updated to reflect applicable jurisdictions.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification, with the updated “Last Updated” date posted. Continued use of the Platform after changes indicates acceptance.
